This one is quick!

If you haven't noticed from previous posts, I have had a horrible time trying to figure out how to get this blog to work!! Therefore, I haven't really been too enthusiastic to continue posting. With all of this time I have to do whatever I wish, I should & could be updating this thing! So here is what I am planning to do in the near future (for the few, if any, who actually read this)...

1. Catch up on posts that I have meant to share, especially pictures!
2. Learn a better way to do this without things looking so sloppy & in disarray all the time!
3. Make the page more inviting, visually interesting... it looks quite shabby now & could use a good pick-me-up of sorts.

Jon has told me he likes that I started this, & wishes I would continue... can't disappoint my man!! So, there you have it! A new blog about... new blogs. Talk about exciting! :/

Will be chatting soon.

Abby

Ps We leave for our honeymoon tomorrow! Finally, a trip for just the two of us!! You will definitely be reading about this one.

Pennsylvania & Friends

Jon and I had the privalege of taking a trip to the Pittsburgh area to celebrate one of my best friend's wedding. Tara and Andy set their date for October 3rd, which was exactly 1 week after Jon and I got married. We (especially me) were so excited to share in their joy that day. After the wedding, all 4 of us took a little trip together for a couple of days a short distance outside of the city. The weather was perfect. The trees were perfect. The time spent there was perfect. We all had a fantastic trip!

Tara and I have known each other since our freshman year of college at Oklahoma Christian University... about 6 years ago now. We have shared a lot together, even though she is all the way in Pennsylvania, and I am in Texas. She has always been the most loyal and caring of friends, and has such a huge heart. You really can't help but love her!! It was my first time to meet Andy, whom she has spoken of nearly constantly over the last 3 years, and I was more than proud. He fits Tara so well, and loves her so much. I couldn't ask for a better guy for my best friend!

So here's to Tara and Andy! We love you both and can't wait for the next time!!

(These are a bit out of order... I am still not good at this blog thing!!)

Silly girls

SO ExCiteD!!!
The bird... that dances when it doesn't like you...

This is the house that Tara & Andy are remodeling.... I mean from the inside out!!
Silly pictures at the Pittsburgh airport...
Of course Jon had to take one with a Steeler!!
Our happy couple before the big day...
All the ladies!
The love birdsHooray!! Mr. & Mrs. Corace!!
After the wedding, on our little "double honeymoon", we went hiking one day, ate some AWESOME food, saw some crazy animals at a zoo, and a famous house called "Falling Water" that was built by Frank Lloyd Wright..... just to name a few :)

Andy & Jon on our hike
This woodsy bench was in the middle of a trail overlooking a waterfall...
Jon & I sitting at a waterfall (there were several of those around... gorgeous!!)
I was in love with all the trees (they were just starting to turn). They, and water, covered so much of the landscape there... totally made me wonder why I was living in the Panhandle.
I had never seen a real chipmunk before.... they are the cutest, tiniest things!! This one was very polite and let me inch closer & closer so I could take multiple pictures of it.
Before the hike... I wanted a picture of the "backroads" of PA & some dead, but colorful, leaves :) I was an explorer that day...

We went to this farmers market and they had the Worlds Largest Pumpkin... or something. It was 1,076 lbs total weight... I think! In front of the house called "Falling Water" by Frank Lloyd Wright
We were at a petting zoo where we could feed the animals and I think this camel really liked what Andy & Tara had in their bag, because he took the food & half of the bag with him. This was their reaction. Haha :)Boy did we eat... and eat... and eat... :) It was seriously some of the best food!!
Our trip unfortunately had to come to an end, and Jon and I had to return to Texas. It was such a memorable time though. There would never be a way to post all of the pictures up, so this was more of a glance... but it was loads of fun :) Next big trip will be our official honeymoon... coming in January!!

Our Wedding Day

As promised.... Here are a few photos from the rehearsal and the wedding day. I couldn't put all of them on here, but at least you get a little preview :) All of this takes place at Spirit Ranch in Lubbock, TX. It was an absolutely perfect day for a wedding! God blessed us with beautiful weather, and a few mosquitoes... hopefully everyone there was having enough fun that they didn't notice, the mosquitoes that is!

These were our Junior bridesmaids/groomsman practicing their exit ... Kelsey (my niece), Jacob and Jessica (my brother & sister in law)

This is from the rehearsal. A fantastic "moment" pic of my sisters, Jana & Lauren, playing with one of the newest additions in our family, Addison.

"A classic Daddy face"....

The Harris ladies!
Jana got this shot with her camera for us.

a few of the details... many more to come!

Jon getting ready (I made those boutonnieres!)

Getting ready...

Jana's cam:
Getting ready... my Mom (standing with me) had just helped me into my dress and the little girls were putting my shoes on for me, hence the reason my dress is hiked up.

Jana's cam! Quick shot of the two of us before the wedding.

That's my man!! He was waiting for me...

Jon and I before the wedding... we wanted a moment to say hello, but Jon didn't want to see me!

The guys praying beforehand.

Jon & the groomsmen rolling out the white carpet for me and my parents.

Daddy & Mama about to give me away (serious faces = trying really hard not to cry!)

I think there was a little funny story telling going on here....

During communion & the lighting of the unity candle. Brittany's assistant, Courtney,ok this shot... awesome lighting!

HOORAY! Mr. & Mrs. Harris!!

My yellow shoes :) I had to hunt high and low to find a pair of bright & sunny yellow wedges... then I ordered matching yellow flowers from Japan to put on top. It was exactly what I wanted!!

This was taken after the wedding on the tandem bike Jon built for me! Sunny yellow! My favorite!! He even put a bell on the front.

My girlies: Kelsey, Rachel, Tara, Lauren, Me, Jana, Sarah & Jessica

The boys: Abel, Ty, Jon, Travis, Charley & Jacob

The first dance :)

The infamous Father + Daughters dance! Since I asked Daddy to dance with me for my wedding and he has never done this with any of my sisters at their weddings... we had one big group dance. It was so much fun! The Duncan family can really cut a rug!!

Doin a little Thriller :)

Leaving on our tandum bike!

From start to finish, this day was amazing. I would do it all again in a heartbeat! Only this time around, Jon and I would take time to eat something! We were starving by the end of the night and as soon as we got to the hotel we ate!

Anyway, there will be more where that came from, but for now this is all. I am hoping in the next post I can show of our little home... we'll see how much work I get done on that one today!
